Parachute Rigging in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin

Parachute Rigging

I pack and maintain all types of parachutes in common use, including sport and emergency equipment. My customers include skydivers, aerobatic pilots, glider pilots, and warbird pilots, flying everything from Citabrias to Reno racers to jet warbirds. If you have a parachute need I can probably help you out.

A Note On Lead Times: Spring is my busy time, as skydivers and pilots alike come out of hibernation. I normally only need to have your equipment for a week to accomplish a repack. Please try to contact me three weeks to one month ahead of when you need your repack so that I can get you on my schedule and minimize your down time. If you have an absolute can't-miss date (competition, airshow, etc) contact me as far in advance as you possibly can.

Emergency Parachute Use Training

Most pilots never plan on using their parachute. As a result they often don't think about how they are going to get out of the airplane when an emergency occurs, or what they are going to do once they have succesfully gotten the parachute open and now need to land the thing. Your parachute and how you are going to use it should be planned, practiced, and pre-flighted just like any other aspect of your flight.

I can provide one-on-one training as well as group training for your aerobatic club, glider club, or EAA chapter. Topics include:

  • Equipment selection
  • Pre-flight equipment inspection
  • Harness adjustments
  • Egress procedures
  • Parachute flight and landing
  • Basic survival considerations
